What is Legionnaires’ disease? FAQs about the severe form of pneumonia

According to the Atlanta-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Legionnaires’ is a severe form of lung infection (or pneumonia) caused by thin, microscopic Legionella bacteria, which naturally exist in freshwater but can grow in man-made settings if the water isn’t properly maintained.
