Bio

I’m an Atlanta-based writer and editor with four-plus years experience reporting and producing with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. My freelance writing can be found at numerous publications, including Teen Vogue, Gizmodo, ZORA and Cox Media Group properties across the nation.

As a recipient of the Rosalynn Carter Fellowship for Mental Health Journalism, I’m also investigating immigrant and refugee mental health stigma and barriers to care in metro Atlanta and beyond.

While I’m drawn to reporting thoroughly on mental health, I also enjoy writing long form features on local and global interests, including environment, human rights, immigration and much, much more. I’m slowly harnessing my creative writing craft and itching to pen more personal essays, short stories and poetry as well.

When I’m not consumed with some form of writing, I love to snuggle up on the couch or in bed with a good book, take my 70-pound pup to the park or catch a flick with friends.

INTERVIEWS

VoyageATL interviewed me for their Trailblazers: Rewriting the Narrative series. Read here.

Join My Newsletter

Inspired by what I’ve learned through The Carter Center Mental Health Fellowship, I founded Foreign Bodies, an email newsletter dedicated to the unique experiences of immigrants and refugees as they relate to coping with mental illness and wellness.

The e-letter features contributions from fellow migrants, unpacked data, helpful resources and more. So far, Foreign Bodies has examined the myth of the model minority, the internalization of global tragedy, accent prejudice, cultural weight-talk and toxic masculinity.

Donations to help with domain and research costs are much appreciated.
